Mali @ TLPS

We are very excited to welcome a fibreglass model of Melbourne Zoo’s baby female Asian elephant, Mali. The Zoo is running the “Mali in my School” Project as part of its 150th Birthday celebrations later this year. We are one of 50 schools chosen to take part in the project which aims to

– develop enthusiasm for learning and debate around wildlife, conservation and the environment
– capture students’ imaginations and develop creative confidence through a fun, hands-on arts activity
– encourage students to understand their role in fighting extinction.

Mali is a “blank canvas”at the moment. It will be interesting to see her artistic growth. How would you decorate her keeping in mind the conservation theme?

The Melbourne Zoo has given us a sneak preview at what the Artists are doing with their life sized Malis.
