It’s a week since I posted these photos from my recent trip to Paris for my husband to run in the Paris Marathon. It’s the first time in the four years since I began the Blog that I didn’t write an accompanying paragraph. I posted in a hurry to show my Grade 5 and 6 students the Coat of Arms in the last photo. They liked the photos of Paris, knew the Tower’s name (Eiffel) but not the River’s (Seine) and marvelled at the detail in the Coat of Arms at Musee d’Orsay. I wonder whether students in general are being encouraged to read and write Blog Posts or whether the pressures put on both them and their teachers doesn’t allow time for such freedom. My feeling is that students and their teachers need to be given time and freedom to enjoy, experience and learn in a Global environment. Just how to do it remains the question?
