Grade 4 Embossing

Our Grade 4 students have been embossing using thick aluminium foil and wooden skewers to do the drawing. The students pasted their designs onto folded cover paper to make cards.

Banner Competition Presentation

Melbourne Airport CEO Chris Woodruff. presented our Third prize in the Christmas Banner Competition at a special morning tea yesterday.

We were very proud of all three of our Banners. Congratulations to our Grade 5 students.

Wonderful News for Taylors Lakes Primary. One of our three banners made by the Grade 5AR students won third prize in the Melbourne Airport Christmas Banner Competition.
Congratulations to our talented students and to Mrs Vella for her inspiration and expertise in coordinating the group effort.
Well done to all our Grade 5 students too as there were only three prizes available and we know there were many beautiful banners entered.
We are proud that two Art teachers and six 5AR students have been invited to the Airport to accept the award at a special morning tea on Tuesday the 8th of December.

It’s almost that time again.

Our Grade 2 students completed all their set artwork for the term so we explored the Winter and Christmas season as it would be somewhere cold.
We have had the hottest November since the 1860s here in Melbourne so it is hard for us to imagine that it can be cold in many parts of the World.
I love the character and expression in the art work of children. One can almost hear the conversation happening between the two snowmen.
Although the artist didn’t name his work I’m sure it is Taylan’s.He is in 1/2KG.

Christmas Banners for Melbourne Airport

Our Grade 5 students have been busy working as a group on Christmas drop banners for Melbourne Aiport.
We are very proud of the way they worked together to make these colourful banners.
They will be displayed, along with banners from many schools across Melbourne, in the International Arrivals section during December.

More Masks on Display

We have a great glass display cabinet in our school foyer.
These Grade 6 Paper Mache Masks make a very colourful and interesting display for our visitors.

Katerina’s Pet Skunk

Our Grade 3 students have been working with wool to make Pom-Poms.
Depending on the colours used these can remind you of things so this one was expertly added to
and made into a skunk. I had no input except for helping with the cutting and tying.
Considering that we don’t have skunks in Australia I think Katerina has shown
great imagination.Congratulations Katerina.

Our Grade 6 students are working on their Mosaics so I’m posting photos of last year’s work to show them the grouting procedure.

Even More Masks

I am very pleased with the quality of the Grade 6 paper mache masks this year. They took a while but my

belief is that”Quality work takes time”.Congratulations to our students- the hard work paid off.

Now we’re making individual mosaics and working on a group mosaic for the “Year of the Ox.”

I was thrilled to have one of our Grade 5PL students, Nathan, bring in this piece of wood burning which he did in his grandfather’s workshop

during the weekend a few weeks ago.

Fantastic artwork Nathan and congratulations to Nathan’s grandfather for providing the wood and inspiring the work.
