Patchwork Fields

Last year I visited the UK in June. The views were spectacular as farmers  ploughed some fields and mowed and baled others, creating different colours in each. The photograph above was taken from Rockingham Castle looking North across the patchwork of fields. Our Grade 3 and 4 students looked at Google Maps bird’s eye views of the English countryside before using a variety of scrap fabrics to create such scenes. Roads, country lanes, villages, trees and hedges completed the collage which are now proudly displayed in our Art Room. I hope that our students will have the opportunity to visit England’s green and pleasant land in the future.
