I00 posts ……. 35 Years in Education in Victoria

I’m proud on many counts but the two I’m celebrating today, and it’s a  great coincidence, are my 100th post on this blog and my 35 years in Education in Victoria, Australia.

Yesterday I was presented with my certificate of Service by Western Metropolitan Regional Manager, Katherine Henderson. Katherine congratulated us all with our dedication and hard work in what is not an easy job. She also mentioned that she had been hearing great things about our school, Taylors Lakes Primary. It was disappointing that our Principal, Peter Reading couldn’t be there to receive his award because he was back at school hosting Expo night, ever on duty.  My friend and Colleague Denise McKernan also received the same award. She is currently a fantastic Literacy Coach at our school.

After the ceremony I hastened back to school to our Art Room and was pleased to hear from my Art colleague, Glenys Vella, that we had many families visit the Art Room. The room was looking great with the Prep Pandas, the Thai Elephants and the Grade 3/4 Chinese Dragon  sculptures amongst the many works on display.

It was another  fulfilling day in Education, and worthy of celebration.
